Introduced on 01 November 2018, Horsey Jameson Bird established the HJB Managed Account, a foundational component for our firm. This initiative was driven by our enduring investment philosophy and decades-long experience in managing assets, serving as the primary motivation for creating an “in-house” investment account for our clients.
In crafting the HJB Managed Account, the ability to control client costs, manage risk, and the flexibility to select specific investments tailored to our clients’ needs are key elements aligning with the account's purpose. Leveraging decades of investing conviction and experience, coupled with robust risk management and well-established asset-manager relationships, HJB is uniquely positioned to enhance the management of client outcomes.
The HJB Managed Account has evolved into a powerful tool for managing client wealth. It represents a curated selection of investments with a singular focus on our clients' interests. To adapt to ongoing market changes, the administration of our Managed Account involves regular Investment Committee meetings. These meetings, inclusive of both internal and external advisers along with industry experts, scrutinise market conditions and continually assess the validity of investments within the fund.

The company's qualifications and skills have been honed over many decades and is an integral part in the overall scope of providing additional and specific advice and the necessary assistance in this specialised area.
